What Sells and What Doesn't

There are a lot of things that sell gold in World of Warcraft or any other game. Most of the things sell in truth but there are definitely categories people look for and then there are the items people stumble upon just browsing.
Let's first take a look at weapons. Weapons are right up there as one of the most looked for items because combat is such a huge part of any MMO. Therefore, if you can find a good deal on a weapon and put it back up for more, your chances of making a profit more quickly are greater.
For the most part, armor is of course an indirect way of increasing your character's power through personal stats, not through pure damage. But it's right up there as one of the best sellers. In World of Warcraft, blue (rare) items and above are where you can find some of the best deals and make the most money.
The profession-based items such as herbs, metal, stone and now jewels through herbalism and mining are great sellers on the Auction House, though unless we were just beginning and wanted very little profits, we would not look for deals here, just use them as a way to make more money as we collected up while actually playing the game. More often than not, the market is pretty tight in these areas.
Recipes, patterns and formulas now really sell great. They are not the low ones but once you start making serious money on the Auction House (100+), begin looking for these. The rare ones are only currently in a few professions, but just as rare to find are some of the green ones, and worth lots of money when they appear on the Auction House. These will make you a fortune if you look for deals here. What you do is to learn them and search them often to get a good feel for what's out there, and when you spot something unfamiliar for a seemingly low price, let it at once alert you that a great deal might be had. Now you can head over to allakhazam and see if it's really worth buying.
When it comes to pets, you should do some searches on the net for World of Warcraft pets and you'll come up with a list of them. By searching out some of these, this is one way to make money and seeing if you get lucky. It is not how we often spend the time but at least when starting our and when you are of level, it can be a fun gamble. In fact we never got one but did not try all too hard. Any rare pets that you do acquire will sell well but the only problem is that it really isn't a consistent money maker, though some apprentices did it a few times and got lucky, and could start in a higher Auction House league because of it.
